Whole selling Advice

Hey BP Friends,Colleges, and future Millions! My name Is Allan. I've spent hours, and hours doing research on whole selling real estate. I have a note book filled with notes, and information from pod-cast, you tube, and all different sources of information and still I feel I haven't yet gathered all the steps to be successful. I know it starts with the first leap, and taking that first step! I'm looking for some guidance from a professional in DC,Maryland,Virginia. I only have about 3k to invest at the moment, and I'm not sure how to invest it properly to get the best results! I'm not even sure if 3k is enough to get started! My plan was to invest 1k in yellow mailing, and 1k in list source to find some leads. What are the main steps I NEED to have in order to close a deal when one is on the table! What do I have to do from begging, to end in simple steps to get my first deal???

Thank you guys, I wish the best to everyone trying to reach their goals!
