Moved to Denver, CO

I've introduced myself previously, but I recently moved to Denver area for my career. I used to live in the Kansas City area. I still haven't purchased anything but I am very close to getting something as I have been pre-approved. Real estate was cheaper over in Kansas, so how do people get started in Colorado? I was thinking about a townhouse or condo in the Broomfield area as that is where my office is. I would get something with 1-2 extra bedrooms and bathrooms so that I can rent out the extra rooms to roommates and cover most of the mortgage. After that I was thinking about getting back together with my realtor in the KC area to get some cheaper homes and just use a management company.

The rent by the room approach is about the only way to have great CF here in Denver Metro. A few of my clients have gone this route and are doing quite well. I did it a few years ago before my wife decided we should not have any more roommates.
