I have no experience whatsoever in real estate yet, but I'm trying to purchase a new property. I currently live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida but I am planning on moving to Fairfax, Virginia. Is anyone from there? How is the market there? I want to start by buying a duplex and renting out the second unit. Is it a good idea to purchase in a brand new state that I'm moving to?
