Is flipping for me?

Greetings,

I am a mechanical engineer in the Boston area. I am looking at the very real possibility of a job loss in the near future. I have decided at my age I am 54, its time for a career change. My monthly financial needs are minimal, I carry no debt. I am interested in researching what the pitfalls of flipping homes can be, so I can really decide if its for me. I am in the position that I could occupy the home while remodeling it. Earlier in my life I worked in the construction trades and built a 1600 sq. ft. home by myself. I can do most all phases of home repair far better than the typical home owner. I hope to use my skill and my available time to begin home flipping. Time to read and learn.

Sometimes your profit will depend on how quick you can get it back on the market. For example it's known that winter months are horrible to sell in. So if you have the opportunity to sell it in the spring- which is the best time to sell- rather than drag it out because your doing all the work it may be more profitable for you to hire help and get it done faster. Hope this makes sense and best of luck to you.

Best,
Jorge

 Great advice Jorge! Thanks
