hey all,

I’m new here. I’m really excited to have found this open community online. It really lines up with a few goals that I have been slowly solidifying. I have a day job as a software engineer for an IT development workshop out of Beaverton, OR. I love what I do and I’ll probably work in IT forever. However, I do see potential in figuring out the passive income hustle. I listened to an audible for Rich Dad, Poor Dad just last year and played the Cashflow game on the iPad. And then, I eventually wound up here.

My goals as a member include:

  1. Invest into my first multi-family by next February 2016
  2. Get my real estate license
  3. Get the right advice and make the right local connections

I don’t absolutely need a purchase to happen by then, but I’m fairly certain I can make one happen by then. Me and my wife have a baby due in September, so I want to be cautious about making any moves before then.

I just got started on a real estate course last night. I was on the fence about it for awhile, but I definitely want to keep educating myself in Real Estate. In Oregon, I’ll be submitting myself to 150 hours of education, so that’s going to be a challenge to say the least. I’ve actually started listening through all the podcasts starting from show 1. Tomorrow, I’ll be listening to show 14. And, I’ve also just found the free course on the site. Bigger Pockets rocks!
