New to BP and real estate

Alan Yanik
Posted

Hello all! I'm an electrician currently working for a general contractor. I love learning new things, growing, and improving. I've come recently to learn about the power of real estate and investing to provide financial security for myself and family and to do my part in improving the community.

My plan (as of now anyway; it's a moving target) is to get licensed as a real estate agent in an attempt to become intimately familiar with my local market, earn money with which to start investing, and meet lots of new people!

Looking forward to meeting lots of folks here at BP too. Please feel free to offer any advice and/or tell me why my plan is a terrible one. I'd love to learn all I can from people who know more than I do.

HI @Alan Yanik

Welcome to BP. Glad to have you on here. Have you looked into any meetups in your area? (find some here) They're great places to start connecting. You can also set up keywords for "Clermont" and other interests so that you're notified when they're used on this site. Also, The Ultimate Beginner's Guide is a great read for those starting out.

Plan isn't terrible as long as you're also finding an REI strategy and starting to move towards that if that's your end game.

All the best!
