Hello BP!

I'm a new investor here in Austin, TX and wanted to take a minute to say hi. I'm originally from southern California, but my wife and I moved to Austin about 10 years ago. My background is in business management (specifically in the construction and service & repair industry) and IT. My wife and I have bought and sold several houses over the years, but those were our primary residences. I've been interested in investing in real estate for many years, but ultimately I let fear get in the way. Last month however, we closed on our first deal as investors, a SFR rental in Cedar Park which is just north of Austin.

I joined BP about a month ago and since then I've been listening to the podcasts, reading through the forums and reading books to soak up as much knowledge as I can. My goal is to continue to grow our rental property portfolio so my wife and I can retire early, travel and spend time with our family. At this stage, I plan to focus on SFR's and small multi-family rentals. I'd love to continue investing in and around Austin, but it appears to be getting tough here so I may need to consider other locations.

This is such a great community with a wealth of information. I'm looking forward learning, networking with others, and helping folks out where I can. Thanks, Scott
