Hi everyone, my wife and I are new to the whole real estate investing scene but is something we're planning for in the coming years. Right now I'm interested in but and hold. I'm in the military and the constant moves provide an opportunity to land property all over the US, and our plan right now is to try and buy a house everywhere we go and then rent it when we inevitably move. We'll likely purchase our first house next year.

We don't have any plans to buy real estate for investment purposes, other than what's described above, but I joined to try and get some ideas and information to see if it's possible for us. Always looking for the next way to make our money make more of itself. Anyway, I look forward to being a part of the group and learning something new!

@Kyle Pare One of the things you'll find with buying is that closing timelines can vary widely from place to place and time of year. The front range of Colorado including the Fort Carson area has been a very hot market so appraisal timelines have been lengthened in general, but this is especially true with VA appraisals because the appraiser has to have special certifications to do a VA appraisal and the VA appraisal has more stringent standards than a conventional. We tend to get quite a few clients from USAA because they were told the timeline with USAA is about double what it takes some lenders to do a VA loan. Good luck making the move to Colorado and thank you for serving our country.
