Learning Multifamily Investing in Northern NJ/NYC area

Hi There,

I'm Stephen - relatively new to real estate and interested in investing in multifamilies in Northern NJ.

I'm originally from the Caribbean, but I'm now an american nomad who likes to learn about the world through international travel and by living in different cities in America. So far I've lived in NYC, the SF bay area, LA, Atlanta and Chicago and I'm currently based in Northern NJ.

Since I've heard the perils of being a long-distance investor, I want to start by investing locally and building a local supporting team. Later on I intend to move into different markets as I naturally move around.

I'm primarily interested in doing multifamily buy-and-holds, and I'd like to complete 2 deals by the end of this year, with a target of 6-8 doors. By the end of next year I'd like to have moved into larger multifamilies with an eye on reaching 31 doors.

Reach out, say hello - I'd love to meet others who're on the same journey!
