Hello all BP community!

I just found the Bigger Pockets site and can say this is exactly what I have needed.

There is so much information here that I can barely contain my excitement.  

I have recently began researching REI and feel a real passion for it already. The thought of having a passive income and larger returns than my stocks keep me motivated to learn as much as possible.

I am around the Charlotte, NC area. I am the owner of a medium size IT business and Father of 3 children. I will be turning 40 next month and really looking for supplemental cash flow. The long term goal will be to sell my business and do REI full time.

I already have a very decent network of business associates but I am excited to continue to build the network as I investigate this new venture.   I haven't consumed information on a subject like this since I first got into IT support.  It is invigorating.

Hello @Brian Mangum - Your situation sounds a lot like mine, as I also own a mid-size IT business (Web Hosting) through which I've been self-employed for over a decade; however in 2015 I decided to start moving into REI. Good Luck!
