Hi all!

My name is Trey. I am 22 years old and have recently developed an interest in residential real estate. I am just out of school from The University of Texas and am working in Houston for an oil company. The goal is ultimately to have some passive income so I can head to business school in the next 4 years. I am super new to real estate so I have a few requests.

1. Anyone who stumbles across this forum who can point me to some especially helpful forums, books, webinars, etc for beginners (keeping in mind that I have a business background, not looking for baby stuff), I would be so grateful!

2. If anyone has any recommendations on cities in the US that I should be paying attention to for the sake of learning and potentially investing, I'm interested to hear.

3. If anyone has done any investing or looking in EaDo (East Downtown) in Houston, I would love to chat and hear more.

Thanks in advance for your advice and welcome,

Trey

James Dupree , try to network as much as possible. You can join the RICH club here in Houston.
In addition, look for "the real deal" on meet up.com, it's a great group of investors, I've been going for a while now and have met amazing people thanks to this group.

As far as books, they have a blog post on BP about the best 20 books for investors. You could get started on those.

I would also definitely check : think and grow rich, how to win friends and influence people, i mean there are tons of book out there.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions.
