Hello everybody,

My name is Randahl (or Randy, that's good too) and I'm in San Antonio, Texas. I recently graduated with a Masters degree and now work full time as a Dietitian/Nutritionist in a hospital. I love this job and career path, but I've been interested in REI for years. My family dabbled in it, nothing serious, but it was an early exposure that made me want to get into it "someday". Now that I'm settled in my career and making a steady income I'm ready to start expanding my business. I have a side outpatient practice and am currently in the process of setting up the business entity properly, and I am always happy to talk about food/nutrition/health topics if anyone wants to shoot me any questions or comments.

After I stumbled onto Bigger Pockets a little over a month ago I've been inhaling the podcasts (almost 100 working backwards), blog posts, and have made it through a couple of real estate books by now and have started analyzing deals in the area to get practice, scheduled my first REIA meetup for this week, and have just started reaching out to people looking for CPA's and Attorneys to get more info and advice on really getting into this. I know I have a lot to learn still and I appreciate everything you all are contributing to this site.

One question for this intro post: I found out about some house auctions going on this month that look like some pretty good deals.  Does anyone know more about how these actually function or know a trustworthy source where I can find more information specific to San Antonio?
