Newbie Mike Columbia SC

Hello all, I am a newbie living outside of Columbia SC. My name is Mike and I have been interested in real estate for awhile now but never had the nerve to do it. Thanks to the podcast and this site I have a realtor helping me look for properties.

I have never been one to do things on a small scale and some would call me impatient so I hope that doesn't hinder my success at this. My goal is 5 single family homes by the end of the year.

I have a great full time job that keeps me busy and I am 6 months away from my business management degree. With that being said my plan is to use a property manager right away.

My goal isn't to make a ton of cash flow on homes but to own several for when it's time to retire. My first few have to be successful so that I can get my wife on board.

Any advise or contact in the area would be great. A few questions if anyone can help:

Do you know any banks that allow refinance within first year around Columbia SC?

Does anyone know a good general contractor in the area?

Does anyone know a good property manager in the area?
