New member in Hampton Roads, VA
Hello, I am Kevin Harris of Chesapeake, Virginia and I found Bigger Pockets after finding one of their books in the Kindle Store. I am currently the Director of Building Services for a large church in my area and my wife, LaShunda, is a both a teacher and a real estate agent. We have been looking for another stream of income that will last after we retire and decided that real estate was the way to go. My first impulse was to get my license and partner with her in real estate, but after reading everything we could get our hands on, we decided that we should become investors using her knowledge of real estate and my connections to contractors. A friend suggested we check out the local REI group and we attended our first meeting last night. Looking forward to meeting and interacting with folks who are like minded and motivated to succeed. We are going to focus on rehabbing and flipping to start and are hunting our first deal and the money to fund it. Thanks for providing this site with so much information.

@Kevin Harris - I personally have not been to any TRIG meetings as I am on the road about 11 months out of the year, but my mom, with whom I do real estate investing, is a member. Let us know if you have any questions! We are fairly new ourselves, buying our third buy and hold now, and almost finished with our first flip, but would be glad to answer any questions that we can!!
