Solar guy finds real estate!

Hello everyone,

So glad to join bigger pockets. I have been watching the podcasts for about a month now and I have learned so much. I want to leverage my experience in the solar  sales industry to get into real estate. I am now obsessed with acquiring multi family properties and installing solar systems on them. This  way I will be the land lord and electricity provider for my tenants. I like the added income stream,  tax credits for solar, depreciation, and the clean energy renovation to the buildings. I am new but I see great value in these upgrades and in taking money from the utility companies to do it with.  I welcome your advice help and support on this endeavor.

Best,

Imoh Essien

@Imoh Essien Welcome to B.P. I'm also fairly new to the site and have become addicted to reading peoples stories. Very wide variety investors with many different angles.

I like your idea of adding solar to a property, have you talked with anyone that has done it before? I'm looking at a 24 unit currently and looking for a way to value add and this could be a great idea. When you say that you will be the energy provider to the building, how are you planning on hooking your system into the grid and monitoring how much you supply to the tenants? I'd enjoy to hear what your thoughts are on all of that!

Ryan
