Can't make numbers work in Northern Virginia

Hi everybody! My name is Rick Solano.

My wife and I are excited to join the BP community. We live in Northern Virginia and own one rental property outside of Tampa, FL (which we just sort fell into a few years ago). I am a technology consultant for a big firm and my wife is a stay-at-home-mom. We have capital to invest, have been listening to lots of BP podcasts and are now looking to invest more resources in growing a real estate portfolio.

We’ve done the numbers for single family and multi family properties in Northern Virginia, but can’t make the numbers work.

We are looking at investing in multi-family properties out of state but don’t have a good view on high-potential areas. We want to know your experience in the markets where you invest in and your opinion on what markets we should be looking at.

Many thanks!
