Noob in Arkansas (LR/NLR)

Hi all,

Noobie in Arkansas here. I'm thinking about RE investing in a couple of different domains, still kind of feeling out the market here and in a few other places I'm familiar with. Very excited, going to look at a property today!

I'm in the Little Rock area and would love to talk to others in Arkansas about the RE investing experiences. I'm planning to start attending some of the local RE investing groups in the next few weeks, hopefully I can meet a few people there as well.

In my spare time, I typically do stuff involving animals. I used to have horses and currently have a dog I run agility with. I do some hiking and outdoorsy stuff as well. I'm also a big nerd by trade and so I spend some of my spare time doing actual scientific research related to my work (neuropsychology).

Right now I'm working my way through all the Bigger Pockets podcasts after finishing all of the Afford Anything podcasts, and am working to educate myself through reading real-estate related books as well. I have strengths in data analysis and having a full-time job, so I'm hoping those things will make my entry into RE easier :)

The last few books that have really resonated with me haven't been strictly real estate books, but I loved The One Thing by Keller and Papasan, and an old classic that I had somehow missed all these years, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Covey.  If you haven't watched the BiggerPockets video of Jay Papasan speaking at Google, I HIGHLY recommend it.  It's filled with little gems.   https://www.biggerpockets.com/videos/jay-papasan-wealth-building-with-the-one-thing-and-the-milionaire-series-talks-at-google
