Newbie in Richardson, TX

Hello BP community!  I recently found the Bigger Pockets podcast and I am excited to join the community.

My wife and I looked into real estate investing several years ago but felt like our financial situation needed to improve before we could invest.  We are in a better position now and looking to make our first investment.

I have been scouring biggerpockets.com trying to learn as much as I can and have been reading some of the recommended books.

I have an excellent W2 job that I love and plan to continue.  My wife is self-employed as an interior decorator.  We are looking to build a real estate portfolio to help fund our retirement and build wealth for our family.

I will be attending my first meet up in a couple of days.  I am really looking forward to networking with some local professionals.

My wife and I have a goal to buy our first investment property by the end of this year.
