Advice and thoughts please

Hi there, my name is Nathan and a wonderful Irish fellow named Brendan introduced this website to my partner and I.

He spoke very highly of this community online and I believe has done very well in his investments.

I have one question and perhaps you can guide me.

My partner and her ex own 2/3 of a 1.2 million dollar house in Bernal Heights in SF.

The problem is that the way the property was renovated means that it does not allow for two couples and a shared kid (and maybe one more one day). We are trying to find a financially savvy way to sell and buy something new with the money from the sale. Something within 15 miles of Burnel.

Ideally we would like something that accommodates us (two separate units within a structure- rather than one as it was set up) and, ideally, also gives rental income too from a rented part of what we invest into. We would be open to pooling moneys but we are very cautious about that because of the challenges with other people's characters and agendas etc.

You guys seem to be the place to go to ask such questions. Or at least your forum is a forum for out of the box thinking in that way - and people with similar mindsets.

If one goes to a real estate agent with the challenge - they are just out for meat - it's their job. Nothing wrong with that. But we are looking for a bigger vision than "jobs" and so to come to an entrepreneurial site like this seems wise.

Grateful for any guidance you might be able to give.

Warmly,

Nathan
