No one else in Phoenix, AZ? Really?

Question

Hi!!

My name is Brent and I'm officially hooked.  I live in Phoenix, AZ and WILL have at least 2 multi-families (preferably 4+ doors, each) by the end of the year.

As many others I'm sure, I read Rich Dad, Poor Dad and so much of it made SO MUCH sense.  I, like Robert Kiyosaki, am a Marine and moved to Phoenix after getting out in early 2014.  I work in IT now and, between that and my wife's income as a teacher, we have pretty decent income.  This all started by me thinking to myself, "Now that we're making pretty decent money, I don't want to save...I want to invest".  Did a Google search for "investing with a home equity loan" or something like that and down the rabbit hole I went!

Since then, I've been reading/listening to everything I can...Trump Style Negotiation, Invest in Real Estate Without Banks (didn't finish), 13 Steps to Valuing Your First Multiplex (in progress), countless podcasts, countless YouTube videos, two BP webcasts, etc...can't get enough.  I'll also be attending the Arizona Real Estate Investment Association's meeting in a few weeks.

At this point, I'm looking for my first property.  I've got a few agents helping me out, a couple lenders lined up and a couple properties that I'm seriously considering.  I just have a few more obstacles to overcome and my first will be done!  Soon, friends...soon.  :-D

Anyway...I'm a musician, Berklee College of Music (online...Boston is WAY too cold for me!!) student, huge car nut and big time tech guy.  I'm also a photographer, videographer and FAA Part 107 certified commercial drone pilot.  I own a multimedia company and am MORE THAN HAPPY to help anyone out with a smokin deal if you need a hand with some pics, aerial, etc.  Just lemme know!

Thanks for the warm welcome @Anissa Hernandez!!  I'm looking forward to the AZREIA meeting.  It seems like it's the place to go for networking as I really like the "I am, I have, I want" thing they do.  Should be awesome!

@Brent Bialik  Hey there, Brent. Great to see you take that first and maybe most difficult step in real estate investment: reaching out on BiggerPockets. Congratulations and I wish you a ton of success.

It's a good thing that you think about investing when you are making money. I've read a lot of stuffs as well on how to invest smart and so far it's really an eye-opener for me.
