Hello BP!
My name is Marcus Cortez. I am excited to be apart of the community. I recently moved to San Jose but I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona. I lived in Phoenix for 18 years but moved out here right after I graduated from college. I attended Arizona State University and now I work in Supply Chain for a tech company here in the area.
I have no prior experience in real estate but was always fascinated about it, so prepared myself in school to become familiar with the terminology and process of acquiring properties. I had seen the power of owning investment properties from family friends and like many other investors in here, I read the book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" and it forever changed the way I thought about life.
I heard about bigger pockets my 3rd year into college in Northwest, Arkansas during an internship. I was talking to another intern from the North Carolina area and we were just talking real estate. He mentioned the podcast and I was forever hooked.
I hope to be able to connect with my fellow peers in here and be able to acquire my first property in a year.

Can you provide context? What was the internship?

@Chris Mason Yes! So I was just explaining how I wanted to get into Multi-family in the near future and the people I was following at the time. He then told me I should listen to Bigger Pockets and check out the website. He told me about the content it had and everything.
The internship was with Walmart Logistics.

Welcome to BP Marcus!!
This site has a wealth of information. I would highly recommend you look up and attend some of the local meet ups.
I recently attended the SF RE Summit and would recommend you put this on you're radar for next year.
Chris is a respected lender and good resource.
Wishing you the best!!

@Matt Motil I definitely have thought about it and plan on doing it. Since California real estate is really expensive and competitive in my area, it's not something I feel I can immediately jump into just yet.
