First Post - New to Investing & BP

Hi All,

My name is Frank Enriquez and I am a newbie from California, Orange County area. I've been a real estate assistant for the past 5 months and just got my real estate license 3 weeks ago. became an officer in the Marine Corps. Currently, I am stationed in Quantico VA at Camp Barrett. Before joining the military I had my real estate license for a year and now have my referral agent license. In about four months I should be in the Jacksonville NC area, so I have become increasingly interested in that market. I will be primarily looking to buy and hold multifamily units with conventional and VA loans. Eventually, I will be utilizing the BRRRR method when financing permits. I have crowdfunding experience, but I am extremely eager and excited to get started on my first (house hack) investment property! Thank you in advance for the warm welcomes!

My name is Frank Enriquez. I live in California, Orange County area. I was a financial advisor for about 3 yrs and made the switch to the real estate industry. I just got my real estate license 3 weeks ago. I work in Riverside California, as a real estate assistant for past 5 months with my cousin and his broker. I want to become a real estate investor and start by doing a house hack in a 4 unit multi family home. I was wondering if there are any meetings or training in the Orange County area that anybody knows about so I can increase my knowledge and skill set as well as network.

Hello @Frank A Enriquez Jr. and welcome to Bigger Pockets!  Why not start small and buy some rural vacant land, say Kern or San Bernardino County (or anywhere in the country) for a $500, sell for $1500 and keep growing your acquisition balance to where you are comfortable enough to make some other choices? And while you are doing that you can sell a few of the nicer properties with owner financing and sit back and collect rent per property for doing nothing. Totally not crazy. A ton of us are doing it. Great way to get rolling and since you are paying cash for everything you don't have to worry about credit - AND - you will sleep well at night because everything is paid for.  Hope this helps!
