I finally joined the forums

Hello BP MEMBERS!!!!

My name is Jason, I’m 29 and I live on the outskirts of Columbus, Ohio. I plan on building a portfolio of rental properties over the next 20 years to lead me into an early retirement. My overall goal, knowing it will change, once I reach it, is to have my cash flow from my rental property investments reach my current monthly salary!

I’ve been listening to Josh and Brandon for about 3 months now. Pretty much think I’ve heard every podcast, haven’t spent much time on the forums, I just created my profile. I work for the Postal Service and have the ability to listen to music/podcasts on Spotify while working my 40 hours.

I’m in the Ohio Army National Guard and I am an AVID hockey fan, of course, I’m a Blue Jackets fan!

How did I end up here? I wanted to start a business, I spent about a month researching food trucks and other like ideas for cash flow and retirement. After some quick math and education, I decided the food truck business wasn’t for me... somehow I ended up on BiggerPockets YouTube. After drowning myself in information, I’ll be making my first real estate investment in the next half year. I currently have about $17,000 saved up (looking for a duplex, triplex, quadplex... or a cheap cheap cheap single family for buy and hold)

At first this was kind of an outlandish and scary thought, considering I already own my own home, ya know... the thought of putting my finances in jeopardy. Eventually I realized it’s not impossible, I was just afraid of risk, well... I say bring it...

It nearly sounds like I wrote this. We are very much alike, and are in very similar positions. I am just getting started, listened to tons of podcasts on real estate investing, retired Air National Guardsmen, love the CBJ and live in Columbus. Good luck!
