What's up, BP community? My name is Drew and I live in Indianapolis. I don't know much about real estate, but I've just recently stumbled upon the BP podcast and have been trying to listen to/read as much BP content as possible in my free time. While on a road trip last week, I finished Brandon Turner's The Book on Rental Property Investing, which was amazing, Ken McElroy's ABCs of Real Estate Investing, and started Brandon Turner's The Book on Investing in Real Estate With No (and low) Money Down.

I’m extremely interested in the concept of house hacking and the plan for using that savings to help buy future SFRs that Brandon explains in his book and that’s what I’m going to spend a good portion of my time on researching going forward. Looking forward to interacting with the community!

@Drew Feutz That’s a great way to start and I have also lived in a duplex for short time and it really help me jump start. I’d recommend the same if your family situation can handle it. Plus if you pick a cool area like near downtown you can get into an expensive asset and live very cheaply, in a good area, while building wealth. Honestly it’s the best if you don’t mind moving around. I’d be happy to recommend some good neighborhoods if you’d like.

Hey Josh, thanks for your response. I'd love to speak to you about neighborhoods in Indy and the surrounding area!

Hello! @Drew Feutz

Welcome to BP, and congratulations on making the decision to invest in your future via real estate.

I have written a few blog posts that may help you get started here on BP, and with your investing. Please click on the links, give them a read, and share your thoughts in the comments.

First is a post that I feel will help not get overwhelmed with the amount of info that is here on BP:

https://www.biggerpockets.com/blogs/5868/52761-the-simple-guide-to-getting-started-on-bp

The second is a post that will help get you focused with your real estate investing goals:

The last one is a post that will help you choose an "investor friendly" real estate agent.

There are many agents out there, but it’s important to choose the right one.

I love answering questions if you have any! Good Luck :)
