Newvie near Lansing, MI

Hey guys! New to bigger pockets. Looking to start investing very soon. I live between Lansing and Grand Rapids and work in Lansing. I plan to start with a house hack within the next year and then do more multi family. I may also try flipping or other avenues to see if I like those as well. Profile pic coming soon, can't do it from my phone. I look forward to meeting some of you and learning from each other.

Thanks for the welcome. I kind of feel like being centrally located between Lansing and Grand Rapids MI gives me a bunch of opportunities between the smaller towns and the two bigger cities.

Welcome Eric, I'm just south of Lansing in Mason. I don't do much in Grand Rapids but I know Greater Lansing really well. Let me know if I can be of assistance.

Good Luck!

Hi Eric, and welcome to the area.  I have several rentals in Grand Ledge and Lansing.  I've house hacked before and would be happy to share some "best practices" with you anytime.

The Lansing REI group is actually meeting this week on Thursday the 30th at the Lansing Brewing Company at 6 pm. If you can stop buy it's a great way to get to know some of the local investors who are hungry for knowledge and love real estate.

Hello! @Eric Charles

Welcome to BP, and congratulations on making the decision to invest in your future via real estate.

I have written a few blog posts that may help you get started here on BP, and with your investing. Please click on the links, give them a read, and share your thoughts in the comments.

First is a post that I feel will help not get overwhelmed with the amount of info that is here on BP:

The second is a post that will help get you focused with your real estate investing goals:

The last one is a post that will help you choose an “investor friendly” real estate agent. There are many agents out there, but it’s important to choose the right one.

I love answering questions if you have any! Good Luck :)
