Hello Bigger Pockets. I'm a fairly new member in Minneapolis, MN and looking for opportunities to partner on commercial multi-family apartment buildings. My day job is an account executive with a large software company. Unfortunately, this job requires a lot of travel, stress, and no predictability. One of my 3 years goals is to make enough money through real estate & other investments and walk away from Workday to begin syndicating large commercial properties.
My preference is to partner on C+ or B apartment buildings. In addition to investing in these apartment buildings, I would be very interested in partnering on a flip to learn how to analyze, plan, and execute. If you have flip opportunities in MN or Western WI or commercial multifamily please feel free to shoot me a note.
I'm also looking to network with general contractors, investors, wholesalers, brokers, and agents.
Looking forward getting connected and hopefully meeting some of you in person.
Hi @Allen Lemay . Welcome to BP and the Twin Cities investing scene!
I also work a day job in IT (think BigBox stores) and invest in SFH, TownHomes, and am a passive in a number of MF unit syndication in the DFW area.
As for meeting up with others, be sure to head over to meetup-dot-com and search for the various meet-ups that get together in the Mpls/St. Paul area.
Best of luck!
@Allen Lemay Welcome to BP! I enjoy going to the BP meetups under the events section to meet other investors. I hope to see you at the next one.
@Allen Lemay Welcome to BP! Good luck on your journey to leave the 9-5! I have similar goals and I am looking to move past the 2-4 unit deals into bigger purchases. I would love to connect. I am an agent in MN and have 10 units in my rental portfolio. Are you looking to invest in MN or out of state?
I would recommend hitting up some meetups. I organize a meetup in South Minneapolis that has been going very well and gets people from all experience levels. I can shoot you the details and also it will be posted on the network>events section on BP.
Have a great day!
@Allen Lemay Welcome to BP. I am a newbie just starting my journal now. Its great to see fellow investor that share similar goals with the hope to purchase large commercial properties. Best of luck.
Welcome to Bigger Pockets.
@Jordan Moorhead - thanks for the welcome note. My schedule is tight over the next few weeks but could meet for coffee this Thursday, Sept 6th at 7:30 a.m. at Moose and Sadies in North Loop (Minneapolis). Let me know if you have availability.
@George Blower - thanks for the welcome note George
@Kurt Pauley - Thanks for the welcome note Kurt. Oddly enough, I was going to attend your last meet-up at Venn Brewery but had a personal matter come up and couldn't attend. I'd love to meet you face-to-face but want to warn you I have a very limited schedule in the coming weeks. However, I do have time on Monday, Sept 10th at 7:30 am. Would you be able to meet at Five Watt Coffee off 38th and at Five Watt Coffee. If so, let me know and we can put it on the calendar.
@Mark Hong - Thanks Mark appreciate the note
@Armin Nazarinia - thanks Armin. I really appreciate the note
@Scott S. - Thanks Scott. Would be interested in learning about any syndicating opportunities in Dallas if there is an opportunity.
@Allen Lemay Welcome to BP, best of luck going forward.
Hello! @Allen Lemay
Welcome to BP, and congratulations on making the decision to invest in your future via real estate.
I have written a few blog posts that may help you get started here on BP, and with your investing. Please click on the links, give them a read, and share your thoughts in the comments.
First is a post that I feel will help not get overwhelmed with the amount of info that is here on BP:
The second is a post that will help get you focused with your real estate investing goals:
The last one is a post that will help you choose an “investor friendly” real estate agent. There are many agents out there, but it’s important to choose the right one.
I love answering questions if you have any! Good Luck :)
