Getting started in Spain

Warren Talbot
Posted

I am living in a cave house (yes, we have electricity and Internet) in southern Spain. We moved here 4 years ago after traveling the world for a few years and falling in love with the people, wine, and food of this country.

In 2015 we purchased an apartment in Madrid, all in cash, to diversify our investments and to set up a bit of "passive income". However, I wish we had known about this community back then so we could have started it more as a business than a one-off investment.

Now we are looking to take a more business focused approach and we are actively engaged in looking for cash-flow properties from long-term rentals in Granada. Exciting to continue learning from all the great people here and applying it to our little part of the world.

Not yet. We are doing fix&flips of around +/- 6 months from buying to selling. Is it interesting though, because the numbers that you are mentioning in Granada are similar to those in Valencia.

For myself, I am more and more moving towards individually building on a rental portfolio. Will have a close look on your progress and perhaps ask you something along the way if you don't mind.
