Hello Newb from Walla Walla WA.

Posted

Hello All, I am so glad I found this community!

I moved WA from Wyoming in 2010 to work at an Art Bronze Foundry. I'm at the point where I realize that my body can't handle this kind of labor (50-80 hrs wk) for another twenty years and have always had an interest in real estate.

(Yes, Rich Dad P Dad got to me too! Thanks Kiyosaki!)

It seems to me that Walla Walla has a really strong market and there are a ton of foreclosures as well. So this has me thinking that I would like to rehab and hold at least one property per year for the next five years. (More when possible) I feel like I am getting better about assessing the potential of properties and ROIs. (Thanks BP software)

I have a few options since buying my own home two years ago. It is very close to downtown and I am thinking about doing VRBO after I finish remodeling. (I still have a ton of research to do on this topic) My understanding is that we currently have a cap of one VRBO per person. I also have a small 401k that I am trying to figure out how to use whether it means closing it out and taking the hit or finding a way to transfer it into a Roth self directed.

As I said I am really grateful that Bigger Pockets is here and have just been diving in the last few weeks since discovering their Youtube channel.

Thanks Ya'll!
