New Investor in St. Louis

I am an attorney in St. Louis, looking to get into Real Estate Investing.  Motivated by my former Triathlon Coach that is now selling raw land in Southern Ca. and my brother who is a broker / agent / investor in the Seattle area.  Primarily interested in Multi family.  Would love the opportunity to partner with someone experienced to learn the ropes.  Would like to start in the St. Louis area and later expand to some other locations.
