Newbie from Davenport, IA

Hi everyone!

My name is AJ Smith and I am a sophomore studying Accounting at the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business.

I joined BiggerPockets and became a Pro-Member just last week, and I'm excited to use the site's various calculators and massive network of support to accomplish my goal of closing my first ever rental property by the end of 2019. 

I'm looking for deals on Single Family Homes and Duplexes in the Davenport/Bettendorf/Iowa City Markets. I aim to use the BRRRR method to preserve my capital and greatly accelerate my portfolio growth as I continue to learn and invest, and if anyone has any tips on banks or credit unions in the area that will refinance based on the ARV, please let me know!!!

Aside from listening to dozens of hours of podcasts, audiobooks, and YouTube videos, I am brand new to the real estate investing game. I know much of the vocabulary, and am now working to implement what I've learned into deal analysis and actually making offers.
