Military investment strategies

Hello all! I appreciate you taking the time to read this post and hope that it will spark some constructive conversation that is not too repetitive (someone may have already asked this). I am about to enter the military and am wondering if there is anyone in the bigger pockets audience that has found an investing niche that suits the military lifestyle of pickup and move well? I am exploring my investment options and wanted to know if real estate can be a good option for this lifestyle. Thanks!

@Turner Chaundy, I love buy and hold.  I have been in the military for 20 years and I buy an investment property every time I PCS.  At first, I bought houses based on what I wanted to live in.  Avoid that.  After a couple of moves, and new tenants, I learned to buy at new duty stations as an investor.  Look at BAH rates, look at location, etc... and figure out what your prospective tenant (after you PCS) wants, not what you want.  After my 20 years, I now have a decent portfolio which allows me to think about my life after military differently than your typical service member retiring or getting out a focusing solely on where to get there next job.

Good luck!!
