My introduction...Hello all!

Hello, my name is Alex Kastanes. This site is wonderful and I enjoy being part of the community. After spending some time here I see that it's proper to introduce yourself so this is that.

From 2004 to 2008 I was photographing and posting signs on reo's for Odell Barnes. While doing so I got to see most of the country and met many really nice people. My family was in the bulk reo and note servicing business and were making some headlines in Cleveland and Detroit. (Google Interstate Investment Group, LLC) In 2008 I moved to Detroit for a couple years while my family worked on a deal with a new business partner there. That experience certainly was enlightening. We turned 5m cash into 18m in notes for the City of Detroit but because some corrupt officials had it out for our partner, they came for us once he killed himself. Armed with a crooked judge and a pension fund bankroll, the city spent 1 million destroying my family's credibility and wiping out our assets. This went on from 2010 to present. It's just me left now but I'm not going anywhere just yet. I've read in some of the books that it's best to go broke once in your life and as a business owner it's best to do it before you're 30, so check and check.

These days I'm looking to build active income through any means real estate related in order to acquire the capital needed to fund a rehab flip ($50k). Wholesaling seems like the logical starting place so I've begun building my lists and will be using this site to help get through the learning curve. Also, a friend of the family has offered to help guide me through the practice of wholesaling which seems very efficient.

That's about it. I look forward to seeing all of you around. If anyone has any advice I'd love to hear it. Please don't worry about hurting my feeling. Thanks and have a good one!
