Newbie Tech Worker in Portland, OR

Hey all,

I'm in beautiful Portland, OR working in technology. I know pretty much nothing about real estate (other than buying primary residences). 

I have two goals for real estate:

1. diversify my existing portfolio for tax efficient long-term growth
2. provide a somewhat passive income stream for a (hopefully) early retirement. 

Found bigger pockets through Google and have been reading posts / listening to podcasts and generally learning a ton ever since! Thanks all for creating such great resources.
