Newbie in Maryland from the Midwest
Hello Everyone!
My name is LaQuan Bates and I am from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I recently accepted a job in Washington DC working in IT. Though I am new to area I am very interested in Real Estate Investing within the DMV. I dont know much about Real Estate but have taken the time to purchase a Book recommended by Biggerpockets called The House Hacking Strategy. This book was very insightful and motivational! I am still in the beginning phase of my journey so I am not ready to purchase a property. I think House Hacking is the path I want to pursue but still have a lot more research and learning to do. I am looking for a good list of resources to help build my Real Estate knowledge base to learn more about the market in the DMV. I have searched Meetup for possible groups but havent found anything that fits what I am looking for. Any local or Facebook group recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Hey welcome to BP and to the DC area. I’m current,y in MD too, about 30 mins outside DC. There are a lot of Meet ups from Baltimore to DC so you should t have issues finding any. There are a lot of investors from around the area. If you search or set key alerts to DC, Baltimore, etc. you’ll get more notifications then you probably have time to read through.
Also, if you have IG, check out 365realestate. He invest in the DC area and occasionally post good information. There’s still opportunity here.
Best of luck. And for what it’s worth. I strongly encourage house hacking if you can swing it. Best way to get stared in a hot market.
