Hey guys, New investor here. Looking forward to getting to know some of you and learning as much as possible through BiggerPockets. I just rented out my first property which is a condo in Sacramento. My goal is to acquire more units, buy and hold, and network with good hearted people with positive intentions. I am a traveling CT/IR tech by day. For fun I enjoy parachuting sports like skydiving, wingsuiting, and BASE jumping. Thank you all for allowing me to be a part of your community.

I'm worried my tenant won't last long there as the neighbors have already complained about the kids making too much noise. Any advise on Getting HOA's to approve condo rental requests would be appreciated. I feel like they really don't want them used as income properties. Anyone had rental requests denied by HOA? If so, why?

The best thing you can do is ready your HOA documentation regarding renting out the units within the association. That will typically spell out everything you need to know as it pertains to renting out the condo that you specifically own.

Regarding the neighbors, there's not much you can do. You can inform the tenants of the complaints and request that they abide by the community's quiet hours (variable but usually 10 pm to 8 am).

I've never requested rental approval for HOA so I cannot speak to the reasons for the denial.

Otherwise, welcome to BP and best of luck on your adventure of REI.
