Hello! Newbie from Los Angeles (and Chicago)

Hey everyone. Glad to find this forum/community. I am almost completely new to investing. I helped an investor who was doing short sales a few years ago.

I am interested in getting started with a multi-family property in the Chicago area, where I plan to relocate to in about a year. Though I am currently not ready to buy, I would like to learn as much as possible in the meantime. I am a research addict, so this seems like the perfect place to join!
