Newbie from Chico, Ca
Hey Everybody!
My name is Isaias Velasquez and I'm a 21 year old from a small town in Northern California. My interest in real estate started about 8 months ago when a certain little book was introduced to me, guess what it was....... Rich Dad Poor Dad! I know, I know it's very unoriginal. It also ruined my life! Now, I never want to work for a 9-5 job again! All jokes aside, it opened my eyes just like many others. This eventually lead me to Bigger Pockets and that was all she wrote, I've been hooked on their books and podcasts. I've been soaking up as much information as I can as possible since that moment
Since then, my interest was recognized and I've now been able to work with a wholesaling company that has taught me even more! I'm more than blessed to have this opportunity to learn and be accepted into this space. Though I love the position i'm in, this is not my ultimate goal. It's a great stepping stone into investing myself so I can eventually have my own long-term rental portfolio.
For now I'm looking in the DFW market to invest. Specifically SFR's in C to B , Blue-collar neighborhoods that are more than 1000 sq. ft and 2+ bedrooms with rent under 1,700 . A base hit out here for my first deal would be awesome, just so I can build my confidence and learn. Another interest I have is house hacking! I'm not specifically looking in a certain area, I'm really just wanting a place I can house hack that cash flows. This would be another great baby step into investing with first hand experience.
My current plan is to attend local REIA meetups, continue analyzing deals daily, continue reading daily, and network with many people! Thanks for your time to read this, I hope you all the best.
