I’m Richard Rogers, 43, disabled vet out of the USAF. I’ve been in MLM’s before, learned a lot but didn’t go far. I’ve always had the dream to work for myself and had the chance a few years ago. Working with a partner we sold a bank of websites, for which I walked away with about $300K. However I guess I hadn’t learned enough, I blew it all in a few years and didn’t invest a penny.

So I’m back behind a desk doing network administration, a little smarter, a lot hungrier looking to get into a real frame of mind and seriously start investing. I have been reading a lot of Robert Kiyosaki, and related books, giving me an itch to learn more.

I want to do it right this time, do it smart. So I’m looking to learn, while I clean up my credit and save up a bit of cash.

I have no experience in RE, but I can spell it. I’ve owned my own house…well the bank owned it and rented it to me. Then I lost it in a bankruptcy after getting downsized.

I’m not looking for a get rich quick deal, though I wouldn’t turn down the lottery if I won. What I’m looking for is a way to retire in 4 to 5 years with an income of 40K+ yr. I have no 401K, no retirement, nothing. So I need to get something going.

I would greatly welcome any advice on books, sites, podcast, groups, etc. Anything, anywhere that I can learn from. I would love to find a mentor that I can work with and follow.

I found this site today, while reading reviews on Lifestyles Unlimited.

Thanks Bill, Brandon, and Marco. I plan to put my eyeballs and ears on and into everything I can. I know it's going to take time, but for now time is all I have. I've been riding the metro bus from the park and ride, giving me 1.5hrs per day to read/listen, and I've been taking advantage of every minute.

Once again, thanks for the input.
