First time investor - Austin, TX

Brady Robertson
Posted

Hello!

I am looking to connect with other RE investors in the Austin, TX area. I am trying to get my feet wet investing in rental properties, and would like to hear any advice/strategies that are used. I am just looking for a place to start, and anything helps.

Would be glad to connect @Brady Robertson, and welcome to the BiggerPockets forums!  I would strongly echo @T. Alan Ceshker's words on specifying your acquisition strategy. Deciding on what path you want to pursue for REI will help focus who you need to seek out. For example: if you are strapped for cash but are able to do some updating and rehab work yourself, a live in flip could be a strong vehicle to start out. Then connect with other people already pursuing that strategy. If you have a way to add value for them all the better for your chances at getting their attention.

What path have you considered most to get started?
