My Introduction, Jason Tefft

Jason Tefft
Posted

Hello! My name is Jason Tefft, and I just wanted to introduce myself to the BigerPockets community! Living in Lynnville, Iowa (close to des moines for any keyword followers) Originally from the denver area, will one day move back.

I'm 29 years, 30 in October. I've got two kids and an ex wife!

I'm actually fairly new to this side of real estate. I've got plenty of experience on the construction end of things. As well, I've remodeled my own house with quite the build in equity.

The investing has been a new challenge! I'm currently looking into flips so I can build a bit of quick capital that would sustain the rentals that we all strive to get into. Any opinions on that?

I work primarily with private and hard money lenders, I'm afraid my pockets are fairly shallow.

I've currently got a room rented out on my land that my house resides, and I've got a property in Grinnell Iowa that I demoed and plan to either sell as a lot of land or build new construction. Opinions there?

I understand with flips I can receive the greatest tax benefits. Is the same true for rentals under an LLC? I know it's good for liability, if enough privacy trusts and incorporate out of Nevada! Otherwise, where do the tax benefits truly lay?

OK, thank you for your time reading my little script! I'm excited to joining the community, hope to create some friendships, build my network, and work together to build strong lives for each of us!
