Florida City Investing

Hello, 

Just joined and am still reading around absorbing all this information but was wondering if anyone has any experience investing in Florida City? I would be a first time investor but I believe this is a city that will appreciate in value due to its proximity to the Florida keys / Miami and with the massive explosion of growth in Homestead, Fl, I think its only a matter of time before Florida City booms. Right now prices seem reasonable compared to other South Florida areas but I'm not an expert by any means. 

I'm primarily looking at duplexes for the cash flow potential and potential BRRRR. I was wondering if anyone has any recommended "Core Four" members down in Florida City / Homestead Area? 

Also if anyone has any useful insight or experience with the Florida City area I would greatly appreciate it.

I grew up down there. it was rough back then, I am sure it has changed a lot. Florida City, Goulds, and a couple other places down that way were no-go zones. 

I would not invest there with the keys in mind, as its a different market. Anyone going to the keys will live there, or pass homestead as a gateway to vacation in the keys. 

use the calls here and run numbers. talk to some real estate agents, property managers, etc... and get an idea of what is hot and what works at the moment.
