Just Passed RE Exam in IL! Looking to make connections!

Hey BG RE Agents/Brokers,

I am excited to say, 'I passed my RE Exam in IL'!  Who ever said it was easy, is wrong!  It was hard for sure.  Super happy I passed.

I am now excited to start my RE journey.  My first order of business is to find a good brokerage where I can learn, get trained and help where I can.  I am located in the suburbs of Chicago so if anyone has any leads/connections to pass on that would be super helpful to get going  I initially want to start as a part-time agent so I can keep my current income in place then transition to full time once my book of business gets bigger.  I look forward to working with you all in this forum.

Any other tips to get started on my RE journey?  Thank you all in advance for your support and assistance?

BTW - I am planning to get the PRO membership for BG.  :-)

Successful selling!

    @Rob Shah

    Congrats on passing your exam!

    I would encourage you to do thorough due diligence on the different options for brokerages. It all really comes down to you and your goals. Being a part-time agent presents a different set of challenges as opposed to a full-time agent but it has certain benefits as well. For your situation you'll definitely want to pick a brokerage that allows maximal flexibility and autonomy as a part-time agent.

    My general advice for getting started with real estate is:

    1. Define your "why" - what's the underlying motivation/purpose?
    2. Identify your goals - what do you WANT?
    3. Create a plan to achieve your goals - this gives you focus.
    4. Educate yourself - books, podcasts, blogs, articles, networking with people who are doing what you want to do.
    5. Take action - consistently take action and surround yourself with others you want to be like. Also, form a great team.
