BLACK FRIDAY REPORT

The GFs son just went to work at the mall. He was dropped off thinking there wouldn't be a place to park. He said there were less than a 100 cars. The place opened up at 6 AM, the stores are empty!

Went by another shopping center, Wal-Mart looked like an average Sunday morning, the Home Depot was empty, about 20 cars a Target.

I didn't see what went on yesterday on Thanksgiving, some stores opened yesterday.

The streets are practically empty too, very strange on any day at 8 AM, but on Black Friday.......whatsup?

Most of my shopping is done as the stuff I usually get isn't going to be a sale item. I have waited on the gadgets for kids and have my son do that as he knows what's hot, I don't have a clue. Like a new phone that comes with a watch that's also a phone. Dick Tracy would love it.

But, the point is, where did all the shoppers go?

My wife and her friends always go out shopping at midnight. They said the crowds were average. They scored some great deals.

I went to Home Depot at 10am and it was empty. They still had a lot of their sale items. I saw some flooring on sale that I wanted, but had the wrong vehicle. Went back at around 3 and the place was packed.

One thing I noticed on Black Friday is that the workers are all tired, stressed, and have been yelled at for their whole shift. If you talk to them nicely, you will get results. The flooring I wanted was mismarked for $.99 sq ft. The worker I questioned about the price was a real jerk and told me the .99 was accurate. I took a picture of the mismarked price and when I got to the register, it came up at $1.29. I told the cashier and showed him the pic on my phone. I was nice about the whole thing and told him how the other guy quoted .99. He called his manager over and I ended up saving $72. My wife had a similar incident at Toys R Us and saved $50. Later, she was at another store and the mnanager told her, "You can have whatever you want. I'm sick of dealing with everyone." I guess you catch more flies with honey......
