Dig for gold OR sell the shovel?

Austin B.
Posted

I'm a software engineer, have some ideas for SaaS products that may, potentially, be useful to real estate pros. I, personally, have little to no real estate experience. Should I jump into this world digging for the gold, or selling the shovel to the diggers?

As software developer in my first career for 20+ years and full-time real estate investor for the last 20+ years, the answer is sell the shovel. Vet your ideas with RE pros and develop your MVP. Gotta find the magic though, because it's a crowded and noisy market.
