Sound proofing a noisy basement ADU

Geritt Shipley
Posted

Hello, I'm a new investor and just baught my first Duplex, which is a single family 3 bed 2 bath bungalow and a basement adu. My first tenants just moved in downstairs and I can hear almost every word they are saying when I'm upstairs in the kitchen. The upstairs has hardwood floors in the living room and bedroom, with laminate floor in the kitchen. Are there any common ways that investors will ad layers of sound proofing materials on floors? If so what are they?

Thanks so much any input is much appreciated!
