Basement Access Being Rescinded

Hi all,

Off topic but looking for some advice. My landlord increased my rent by $100, which in my opinion makes my apartment overpriced compared to similar apartments in the area. But we agreed to it since our lease renewal included basement access which we did not have previously.

However, my landlord is now saying that the basement access was a mistake and should not have been in the lease. I have a fully executed version of the lease with both of our signatures, so the basement language is enforceable in my opinion.

Any suggestions on how I move forward or what options I have? I have been emailing the landlords office but ever since I shared that I am not open to resigning a new agreement seeing as we both already signed the lease with basement access included, they have gone radio silent.

I want to either leverage this to lower my rent to inadvertently pay for a storage unit in place of the basement, actually gain basement access, or keep it in my back pocket as there is a small chance my fiance and I want to break the lease early and this may be grounds to do so.

Thanks
