Spent Some Time In Whitefish MT

Had a family trip to Whitefish MT this past week.  First time spending any time at all in that region.  Some things I noticed/thought about while there:

1) The airport in Kalispel was immaculate!  like one of the nicer and well built airport I've been in.  The restrooms were amazing, there were tons of seats, and plugs, and more options than I thought would be available for food given the size.

2) Seems to be a ton of building, and recent construction of the mix use/retail side of things and quite a bit of multifamily it appears.  Weather those are intended to be condos or rentals I couldn't tell you.

3) Took a boat tour in Glacier, guide said there are 40 cabins/lots in the park that were "grandfathered in" from prior to the park being established.  So essentially there are 40 family's out there with private property in a national park....Is that not the dream!

4) I am told we were there somewhat early in the season, and many higher hikes were closed still, so the town was still rather quaint for the most part, even for a holiday weekend, but I can see how in season it could be very hard to get around the area.

Overall coming from the east coast I saw many similarities to the forests of ME and NH, but obviously there was a distinct wonder of mountains that size.  really incredible to take a bike ride up the road to the sun without traffic, for sure that was the best thing we did.
