Hello! I'm a new member currently living in Dallas, GA. My father is a real estate investor who currently owns over 25 rental properties including a 6 unit apartment complex, multiple single family residences, and 3 commercial buildings netting over $200k per year.
I work for him in our family construction business but now that his properties are paid off he is looking to step down and I'll be making more money. I'm looking to start saving for my real estate portfolio now. My wife just graduated from Law School and works for the attorney general's office and she supports me 100%. I'm really only interested in buy and hold properties for rental income. My current plan is to secure enough single family homes to sell and use the proceeds to buy an apartment complex. In the mean time, I am looking for cash flow properties under $100k. I'm very new to doing it on my own, but I've watched my dad do it so I'm not a complete newbie. That being said, I'm very eager to learn.

Welcome to BP, @Brian C Headrick. Sounds like you have a head start on most people. Use that to your advantage. That said, there are many ways to approach investing so join in on the forum here and get many different perspectives beyond what you have seen your father do.
