SFH To Duplex Conversion
Hello Community! I just bought a single family home in the Westland MI area. The basement of this home is about the same size as the first floor. The basement has a bathroom with shower plumbing and an area that could easily be converted into a kitchen. The home is in the Livonia school district and therefore may be very desirable.
I want to live in this home while remodeling the basement and then immediately move in a tenant. What steps should I take in order to ensure that this conversion can be done legally and effectively?
