NFA letter from NJDEP for underground oil tank

Hello Everyone!

I've been under contract to purchase a Duplex in Linden, New Jersey since January. The property which I currently occupy as a tenant i'll be purchasing directly from the Landlord. The seller had the oil tank removed on March 13th and it had minor contamination. The soil was remediated on March 24th and now we are just waiting for the No Further Action letter to close. I have a rate locked in at 3.37% until May 13th so I was hopeful we'd be able to close before then.

With everything going on is it realistic for me to be able to obtain the NFA letter with 6 weeks and close by then?

Also, is there anything I can do to move the process along? I've tried to call the NJDEP but can't get through, nor can I find anything on public record.

@Jacob Malakoff Its tough to give you a definitive answer on this one as you know everything is in turmoil, I have a couple deals under contract for clients and we're at a stand still for the very same reason. I'd see about extending the closing date and the rate lock if you can. Your lender may waive the rate lock fee so don't hesitate to ask
